Into the Day

I got up early one morning
And rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
I didn't have time to pray.
Troubles just tumbled about me
And heavier came each task.
Why doesn't God help me, I wondered,
He answered, "You didn't ask."
I tried to come into God's presence,
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"Why child, you didn't knock."
I wanted to see joy and beauty,
But the day toiled on grey and bleak,
I called on the Lord for the reason-
He said "You didn't seek."
I woke up early this morning

Celebrate Summer with Jesus!

Summertime and the living is easy,
Fish are jumping and the cotton is high
 
Let’s think about summer.  The commercials show swimming children, barbecuing adults eating hot dogs and hamburgers with friends and family.  Ads depicting cruises, vacations to Disneyland and theme parks abound—but what makes summer, summer? 
  

Renewed Hope

Have you found yourself being stretched lately?  Have the circumstances in your life risen up to challenge your faith and hope in your God?  Do you sometimes feel that your boat is about to sink? Be encouraged.  God is moving in your life.  The enemy of our soul is working hard to bring hopelessness to God’s people—but dear sister, please read the following scriptures.
 

One of the Benefits of Discipleship

Last issue we explored the topic of developing the listening ear—in it I made a statement that the perfect listening ear must be attached to the heart of God.  I believe that as we continue to develop our relationship with the Father we will be able to take the next step in developing the listening ear—to becoming the Encouraging Mouth.   How many times my heart has been divided between wanting to help the hurting, but was afraid of my lack of wisdom, insight or knowledge would add more pain, rather than lessen it.  As I was pondering the next level (an having received mail, phone call
