Real Women

Help Lucy Leader 2

Can you help Lucy Leader grow in her life as a Christian Woman in leadership?
The following is a “too true to life” scenario, that we as Christian Women leaders may or may not have faced. Can you send in your suggestions on how you would handle this challenge?

Becoming a Living Sacrifice

“I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service.” I Corinthians 12:1 (NKJ)
“I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies—presenting all your members and faculties—as a living sacrifice, holy, (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual service.” I Corinthians 12:1 (Amplified)

Have you read any good books lately?

Reading is a wonderful way to increase our knowledge. God has been raising up many good authors to encourage His body of believers. I know there are those of you who are non-fiction readers—send us the name of a good Bible Study or resource material that you have come across. Or a “good information “ or “a how to book” that has been an encouragement to you. (That’s me!) There are also those of you that enjoy reading Christian fiction. (That’s me too!)

Are You a Skilled Wrestler?

Struggling with doubts, fears, mental conversations that leave me warn out from more doubt, unbelief and struggles…the old man versus the new man..how do I stop this cycle? Have you ever been there? On the merry go round of “ought to’s, should’s, cant’s and whys“? I have been a Christian since I was 9 years old—–I should know better, I should be aware of his devising and yet Satan can sneak in and work his wiles of deceit on my soul. Why should I be surprised?

Better Spiritual Posture…Through Spiritual Stretching

Our first issue of Real Women! encouraged us to “Stand Tall” as daughters of the Lord—taking our place in His Kingdom. After meditating on the article in the first issue—I have found myself reaching as tall as I can for the things of God.

Real Women

Martha Rodman

I hope this publication will be an encouragement to all women who are involved in any level of ministry to the body of Christ. Some of you pastor churches, some of you CO-pastor with your husband while some of you simply consider yourselves, “Pastors Wives“. Some of you are leaders in various ministries in the local church. We have women who are involved in traveling ministries, while others are in international mission works. God has His women doing a variety of jobs for His Kingdom’s sake!

Why the title "REAL Women"?

The Gift of Friendship

THE GIFT OF FRIENDSHIP

If your bad habit screams, "Me First,"
. . . Break it.
If your spirit cries with thirst,
. . . Slake it.
If for company you yearn
And someone else's trust you earn,
When friendship's offered in return,
. . . Take it!
Just place your hand in his or hers;
. . . Grip it.
If imagined slight occurs,
. . . Skip it.
See what's needed, then give more.
And if a weed springs up, before
It chokes the path to your friend's door,

Hot Potatoes

My teacher had each of us students get a clear plastic bag and a sack of potatoes. Then for every person we'd refuse to forgive in our life, we had to take a potato, write on it the name of the person and the date, and put the spud in the plastic bag. Some of the bags, as you can imagine, very, very heavy.

Then she told us to carry this bag full of the potatoes with us everywhere for one whole week. We had to keep it at our bedside every night, on the car seat when in the car, next to our desk at work, etc.

Spring Cleaning: Cardiac Style

March is here. Magazines and the internet are full of suggestions on how to clean, organize and spiffy up your home. Have you begun to dig deep into those cracks and crevasses? Cleaned any cupboards? Uncovered any mildew? Dirt happens. You leave things alone and dust appears. Welcome mats are supposed to keep dirt from coming into our homes, but even in homes where the custom is to remove every shoe before it hits the inner sanctuary a broom or vacuum is still needed.
