1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach,
Instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers.
They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction.
Keep them in your prayers.
Lucy is looking for ways to increase her leadership skills. Can anyone help her?
From Leadership Dynamics, Inc.
So what does it take to be leader? What qualities need to be developed?
Consider the five "L's" of leadership:
1. Listen
Hospitality-with its image producing synonyms like welcome, warmth, kindness and generosity is such a wonderful emotional word. We tend to get very emotional over it-for either we love it or hate it; embrace it or shy away from it; or jump in with both feet or try to ignore the scriptures declaring that it is to be a part of those in leadership! If any of you are similar to me, you vacillate from one side to another.
Let's begin by celebrating "Resurrection Sunday!"
If your church does not celebrate with a Sunrise service--how about doing one just for your family? If "Easter Sunday" is too busy for your ministry family--how about doing it on Saturday? This might be a good time to invite a neighbor or two to join you!
- Announcement in the church bulletin for a National PRAYER & FASTING Conference: "The cost for attending the Fasting and Prayer conference includes meals."
- The sermon this morning: "Jesus Walks on the Water." The sermon tonight: "Searching for Jesus."
- Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles, and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple children.
- Please place your donation in the envelope along with the deceased person(s) you want remembered.
One of the tools we have been given is the gift of prayer. It is the means by which we can communicate to GOD! Isn't that amazing? We can at any time, any where share our thoughts, concerns, problems, and joys with Him. This privilege comes to us because of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and the resulting reconciliation that we now have through faith with His Father.
Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!
Keep the smile going by sending this on to a friend.
Everyone needs a smile! Let this virus never end.
