Reading is a wonderful way to increase our knowledge. God has been raising up many good authors to encourage His body of believers. I know there are those of you who are non-fiction readers—send us the name of a good Bible Study or resource material that you have come across. Or a “good information “ or “a how to book” that has been an encouragement to you. (That’s me!) There are also those of you that enjoy reading Christian fiction. (That’s me too!)
Please send us the name and author of anyone that has been uplifting to your spirit. Darryl and I have been reading John Maxwell’s new book "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership". It has been encouraging and challenging. I have also recently read "A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers". A novel set in First Century of Christianity. It was eye opening as well.
There are of two magazines that I have come across, if there are any others that you subscribe to that have been a blessing let us know about it! Thanks.
I was given a magazine called “Women of the Harvest” this past week. The mission statement states “a magazine of support and encouragement for women in cross-cultural missions”. It is primarily for women on the mission field and has some excellent articles concerning real women dealing with real issues of life in a different culture than the one in which they were raised. I believe that it could also be a blessing for those desiring to support women in cross-cultural missions by giving them insights into life on the “field”. I enjoyed reading it—especially with our time spent in Jamaica, England and Ghana in mind.
