Switching Track

Sometimes we feel like our life is going down a certain track in a runaway train.  We can't stop, we can't turn around, we can't jump track and we can't change the apparent destination.  When this happens we need help.  I am so glad God can send that kind of help when we need it.

Recently, I was on a track that I didn't want to be on, but didn't know how to get off.  To all indications my train was going places that was contrary to my understanding of the will of God for my life.  I don't know for sure how I got on that track, and I wasn't sure how I was to get off.  Actually, I was looking for a turn around spot, where everything would begin to reverse so I could get back to where I thought I should be.  Some of this had to do with my health, some with the reality of another birthday, some with the way ministry was developing or not developing, and some with a real deep need to be refreshed.  But there was no turn around place, and things did not slow down.  So I stated crying out to the Lord for His intervention, knowing I couldn't continue along this track and get to where my dreams are.

Somewhere along the line the Lord threw a switch.  He showed up the way a switch man on a railroad track use to, and threw the switch at a critical juncture in the line.  It wasn't a sharp turn but as the train of my life took the new coarse, I slowly moved from the old to the new.    I began to see things differently.  Refreshment came into my soul, and a certainty of a better outlook took a hold of my mind and heart.  I am so glad for the Lord being able to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.  This is called grace.   If we are in need of being switched, the Lord knows how to do it. There is hope.  We don't have to ride the train to the destinations of our fears.  We can be switched to the track that takes us fully into all the Lord has planned for us.

Proverbs 3:6   In all your ways acknowledge the Lord and He will direct your paths.
