Recently, I had a problem. Ever had one of those? It wasn't a big problem, but it was my problem. I was working in the yard and using our brush shredder to shred up the pruned trees and shrubs from earlier this year. Everything was working well. Then I attacked the pile of weeds and pruned plants, and though I thought there would be no problem there was a problem. A mass of that stuff stopped the shredder cold in it's tracks with a huge clunk, that sounded like something major broke inside the machine. My first problem was to clear out the portion that stopped the blades, which went better than the last time something like this happened (a little experience can go a long ways). Then I looked at my pile of weeds and plant clippings realizing I wasn't going to be able to shred them up.
What to do...I decided just to pile the stuff in a corner of our yard where it wouldn't be seen. So I loaded up the wheel barrow to overflow and started out to the dump site. That is when the Lord gave me His solution to the problem. At this time I must admit I wasn't asking, and I was just settling for my solution, so it was the grace of God that He dropped a much better solution into my heart. I think this happens when we are simply walking daily with God and keeping open to His care for us. I am not saying we shouldn't pray, but even when we don't pray specifically there are times when the Lord will kindly intervene.
So there I was moving along the driveway with the wheelbarrow when the idea was given to me. Spread out the plant material all over the driveway about three inches thick, and use the lawn mower to mulch it up with. I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years, so I knew it was the Lord. I did it and it worked wonderfully well. So now I know how to take care of the rest of the pile.
My meditation on this problem and it's solution has led me to this conclusion: If God cares for even the little things of our lives, then why should we ever lack for wisdom for problem solving whether things are little or big?
Proverbs 28:36 Who has put wisdom in the mind? or who has given understanding to the heart? ...the answer: God
