As we cruise into the new year, I habitually wait on the Lord to see if He has anything that will help us to understand the time and season we are entering into so that we can cooperate and walk in step with Him.  Already I am convinced that many of us are entering into a season of new further alignments.  Things are changing.  God changes not. So He can help us align and re-align correctly to maneuver successfully forward and upward to the things He is going to do in our lives this year. 

For some of us, this will be very critical.  Not just a little tweaked adjustment here and there, but a pervasive overhaul and alignment into a new day.  If that is us, it will take deep faith, flexible trust and great deal of courage to be willing to make the alignment changes that will be presented to us.  Many of us have been aware that "God is up to something"  because of the stirrings and dilemmas that are in our soul.  I believe that is often the precursor to the new alignments the Lord wants to bring to us and help us make.  He is preparing our hearts for this, and He will soon release it.  The challenge will be to accept and embrace the new alignments.  I know if you ask, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you what specific alignments He is calling you to.  Then of course you will have a decision to make.  Will you or won't you accept the challenge courageously and the risks that are involved to see what the Lord will do in you and through you as you align yourself to His revealed will.  

Finally, the act of alignment will set in motion things that we have been praying for.  Advancing the purpose of Christ in our lives, we will realize that God "who has been up to something" is now establishing us into what He has been preparing us for during the last while.  What results from these alignments will be amazing, not the least of which will be new God assignments.  These assignments will bring a release of God's purpose through our lives in new and fresh ways.  This is not a time of business as usual - this is unusual business.  

In the course of conversations, I have found several of our friends already in full swing of new alignment. They are encouraged to make big changes to be aligned properly in a new season of life in Jesus Christ.  We know of churches that are also being challenged with new alignments through leadership changes and vision adjustments.  We see leaders in the market place being challenged in the same manner.  We are also seeing this take place in our lives as a continual process of what was set in motion three years ago when we opened up our New England Ministry home.  This last three months have accelerated the absolute necessity of new alignment as we journey ahead into the year.

I have already challenged some to align themselves more accurately for next stage events to take place, and if you have been challenged by me, or by the Spirit himself it is time to act on what you believe.  Stop assessing and start the alignment process. Get ready, be alert, stay Spirit filled, and keep the faith.  By the end of this year (2009) many of us will look back and say, "WOW, what amazing things the Lord has done in me and through me.  I am so glad I accepted the God mandated alignment in my life."
