Use of Time

After a busy time of ministry during January, we are in the quiet time between what has been and what will be.  Not that nothing is going on.  Indeed, everyday has had its own sort of activities and interactions with people.  Personal appointments, telephone conversations, email activity – things that keep moving relationships to new levels and promote good faith cross pollenization.  The rhythm of grace needed for this life helps me to know how to use time when it is not being demanded by attending to the outward expressions of ministry.  Between being bi-coastal commuters, moving in and out of different spiritual and cultural environments, and having high public activities then low profile presence, I am learning to take time and use it wisely.  Sometimes it is time for rest, sometimes it is time for high-energy, non-stop activities.

This present time is a time for reflection, second wind refreshment, and preparation for the next few weeks here in the New England region.  I remain expectant to see what the Lord will do next in impacting the lives and faith communities we are called to work with here.  I continually expect expansion and further development of the things the Lord has planted in my heart for this region.  So today I am using time to clean up my office desk, my email folder and add some more articles to the website.  It is raining outside, and I always enjoy the rain, partly because it forces me to take care of these indoor details.   And then there is always the unexpected that can be a total God thing.  Until next time….Darryl

Glad you took some time to kick back. Your busy life style got "honorable mention" in my blog this morning. :) Hope you take more reflection time today as well.
