Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:7-10
Are you sowing the right kind of seed in the right kind of ground for the right kind of harvest? Are you planting the kind of seed today that will insure the kind of tomorrow you are believing for? What you are doing today will influence what you do tomorrow. And what about the amount of seed sown? Are you sowing in abundance, or in the fear of not having enough, are you sowing very little?
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:6
The reality of seed time and harvest time has been taught a lot in the last few years, and yet so many of us are still functioning as though this principle didn’t exist. We may want a different future than what our present day is, but often we are praying fervently for good changes to take place without doing the things that will bring those good changes. In a parable, it would be like a farmer praying for a greater harvest without preparing the ground and planting the seed for the greater harvest. He can "believe" all he wants, he can desire with all his heart, he can pronounce he will prosper, but unless he is planting the right kind of seed with the right kind of abundance, his field will not yield what he desires.
There are certain things that take time, and sowing and reaping is one of them. It always takes faith and a certain amount of sacrifice to sow what you have today for what you expect tomorrow. But we will surely reap in due season if we don’t give up and quit the process.
Some thoughts:
Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness. 2 Corinthians 9:10
I encourage you to review your seed sowing, sow good seed abundantly, and look forward to the results that the Lord has promised.
