Praying Psalm 34 for your Husband or loved one!

Elizabeth Haslet re-wrote Psalm 34 as a prayer as a response to studying the book "The Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie Omartian. I asked her permission to include it in this issue as I felt it would be a blessing to use as she wrote it--or as an example to use with other scriptures to pray for our loved ones. We pray it is a blessing! It can be adapted for anyone.
PSALM 34
The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God-prayer for my husband
1 Lord please help my husband bless your name at all times; Let your praise continually be in his mouth.
2 Let his soul make its boast in the You; instead of in himself.
Let him be humble and hear of your praises in other's lives and be glad. Let him not be jealous.
3 Lord, please help him magnify your name, making you bigger in his eyes, bigger than his problems, bigger than his fears, oh Lord!
Let him exalt Your name together with me. Let him exalt your name at work, and in our home, with his family and at his church. Let his life show your love and your grace.
4 Please help him seek you, LORD, and show him how You hear him. Speak to him, remind him of your love for him.
Deliver him from all his fears. Let him not walk in fear of anything but you
.
5 Please let him look to You and be radiant, shining with your love in his eyes.
Let him not be ashamed by his actions, instead keep him from sinning, and keep his eyes upon you.
6 Help him cry out to you when he is in trouble for I know You'll hear him!
And that you will save him out of all his troubles.
7 Thank you for the angel of the LORD that encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them. Please let my husband fear you, and trust you, that you will deliver him from the area of __________. Thank you that you protect him on the job, and at home and while traveling.
8 Oh, Father, let him taste and see that You are good! Let the time he spends with you be sweet.
Bless him, Father, for he trusts in you. Help him trust you more and more!
9 Help him to fear you, Lord,
Because those who fear you will want for nothing.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. Help my husband seek you! Let him put you first in his life!
11 Lord, even as you teach your children, draw my husband to you so you can teach him to fear you, to obey you, to give you every aspect of his life.
12 Let my husband desire life, not death. Keep all thoughts of depression far from him.
And let him have many days here on earth, that he may see good.
13 Keep his tongue from evil,
And his lips from speaking deceit. Let him not be a liar, or a complainer. But let him speak hope and peace.
14 Help him Depart from evil and do good; give him strength to overcome temptation.
Help him seek peace and pursue it actively, not only with me, but with his family, his enemies, his employees, and his co-workers.
15 Thank you that your eyes are on the righteous,
And Your ears are open to their cry. Be open to my cry today for my husband.
16 Don't let my husband fall in the trap of evil, so that Your face would be against him.
Please don't cut off the remembrance of him from the earth. Help him be obedient to you, and righteous. Help the legacy that he leaves behind him be one of your mighty work in his life. Make his life count with his family, with his friends. Give his life deep purpose that will last to many future generations.
17 Help him cry out, for You will hear him,
And deliver him out of all his troubles.
18 Be near to him when his heart is broken, heal him and care for him.
You save those with a contrite spirit. Give him a contrite spirit. Soften his heart so that he will listen to you. Let him not be proud, rejecting your wisdom, but let him be humble and receptive to your ways.
19 Lord, no matter how many afflictions my husband has,
I know you will deliver him out of them all.
20 I know you will guard all his bones;
Protect him so that not one of them will be broken. Protect him on the job and as he drives and as he works around the house.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. Keep him from evil.
22 You LORD redeems the soul of Your servants,
And none of those who trust in You shall be condemned. Thank you Lord! Please save my husband from his past and his thoughts and bring his mind and heart inline with you, Dear Father! Thank you that you will redeem him, redeem his emotions, his attitudes and his self-image. Deliver him in times of trouble!
In Jesus Name, Amen.
