Lucy is looking for new ways to be a "friend of sinners", can you help her?
Concerning your question--Lucy is looking for new ways to be a "friend of Sinners"… the first thought that came to my mind is-love her children. No mother can resist the genuine love for her child from you--especially when it is initiated by you for no personal gain. If she knows you really care about her child she will be touched deeply in her heart.
It's a feeling we all treasure, to give value and worth to my chld speaks to me and Iknow it must also speak to my neighbors heart as well. Jesus said to Peter, "feed my sheep". I can do that--lunch on the patio for a few neighborhood children, if I am going to do a few errands take one child with me. This gives mom and the child a little R & R time.
Sunday School and nursery workers are always needed, is this your calling?
VBS is around the corner--what a wonderful way to show friendship. To a sinner--win her heart through her child.
A ministry close to my heart--is Moms in Touch. Check it out! There is no greater way to show love for my neighbors child than to pray for her child on a regular basis.
Just a few scattered thought on how to be a friend of sinners. I know when others stand in the gap and reach out to my child as a friend, mentor, prayer partner, coach, camp counselor as an extension of God's love it makes a difference. Look in your church, does your pastor need more volunteers? Can you help? Be an example for our youth. They need firm footsteps to follow.
